Pilot Communities

Bike/Walk Twin Cities

Bike/Walk Twin Cities is an initiative of Transit for Livable Communities. Transit for Livable Communities is a non-profit organization that works to create a more balanced transportation system by increasing the diversity of voices participating in transportation and development decisions.

Transit for Livable Communities is administering the Non-Motorized Transportation Pilot Program (NTP) for the Twin Cities.

But What is Bike Walk Twin Cities?

Bike Walk Twin Cities is simple: Bike + Walk = Twin Cities.

Still guessing? Bicycling and walking is a vital (and enjoyable!) part of living in the Twin Cities. It makes our communities more vibrant and successful, connecting our region and shaping communities that we are proud to call home.

We’re here to help you out. Did you know that bicyclists have the same right to the road as motorists? Or that you don’t need a winter coat when you bike in the winter? Or that hundreds of people know great places to walk and bike in the Twin Cities, and they’re ready and willing to help you do it?

Riding a bicycling and walking in the Twin Cities is fun…and environmentally friendly, economical, healthy, business-sustaining, and all sorts of other good stuff. The Twin Cities region is THE place to walk and bike, and we can help you make it part of your daily life.
